PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Lead a high-performance accounting and corporate division that maintains accurate
books and records, ensures compliance with various corporate governance and activity
reporting requirements, and seeks to improve efficiency and reduce costs
● Lead, manage, and perform day-to-day accounting operations including positing and
coding income expenses, and other financial transactions for proper and accurate
accounting meeting Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Financial
Accounting Standards Board (FASB) rules for nonprofits, and non-profit organization
industry standards and requirements
● Participate in forecasting and budget planning with the Treasurer, President and division
directors
● Ensure accurate and timely reporting for all federal, state and local corporate
governance and reportable activities (e.g. lobbying, PAC) as well as retention of
documentation
● Maintain the Organization’s financial structure and coordinate the Organization’s
relationships and covenants with financial institutions, suppliers, and government
agencies
● Closely review and monitor bank accounts, account activity, and payment platforms
● Supervise account reconciliation and manage all bank accounts
● Oversee and maintain accurate accounts payable and receivable consistent with
agreements, policies, controls, and directives
● Oversee monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly
operating results to ensure accurate accounting records
● Prepare and distribute accurate monthly financial reports for the President and Treasurer
● Prepare and distribute accurate monthly cost reports for the President, Treasurer and
division managers
● Review and record journal entries required to reflect accurate income, costs, activities,
and balances
● Coordinate with teams and staff to ensure complete and accurate time and cost
allocations to operating units and related job costing
● Oversee and work collaboratively with outside CPA’s and counsel for federal, state, and
local filing requirements
● Have the ability to problem solve any accounting or reconciliation issues that may arise
● Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

● Must be authorized to work in the United States
● Must be at least 18 years of age
● Must be able to legally acquire and possess firearms (including handguns)
● Must have personal values which align with the Organization’s values and goals
● Must be proficient in computers, databases, software, applications, and other standard
business tools (i.e., MS Word, MS Excel, file storage and sharing programs, etc.)
● Must have the ability to stay productive and create excellent outcomes with little
supervision
● Must be resourceful and have the ability to solve problems quickly
● Must have a drive to be better and continuously improve
● Must have at least 10 years of documented professional work experience managing
high-level accounting and financial operations directly relevant to the duties and
requirements of the position
● Must have excellent business judgment and demonstrated proficiency in working with
accounting and reporting technology solutions
● Must have understanding and experience with GAAP and FASB
● Must have understanding and experience with corporate governance requirements,
insurances, and risk management, and corporate business operations
● Must have the ability to understand, interpret, and apply directives, as well as outside
counsel and CPA advice
● Must have a keep attention to detail, the ability to solve problems, and the commitment
to getting duties and deliverables completed accurately and on time
● Must have excellent and clear written and verbal communication skills
● Must have excellent strategic vision and strong analytical skills
● Must be able to prioritize dynamic projects, tasks, deadlines and responsibilities
● Must be organized, trustworthy, have a strong work ethic, and prioritize the security of
the organization’s data
● Must be committed to self-leadership and actively taking ownership
