We are a day away from Expo West and I am super excited! Our bags are packed, schedule is made and I am already working on making belly space for all of the amazing samples. Last year’s event demonstrated a rebounding CPG economy, and this year’s event is continuing that trend. I would even go so far as to say that this year is shaping up to be busier than pre-covid shows.

We are flying in today – so we will be arriving just in time to catch the pitch slam. That event is always a must see as it highlights some up and comers. This year’s event is sponsored by Daiya and 301 Inc. and will be hosted by Kuvy Ax, the founder of ROOT. Tanka’s win last year was one that was energizing as it benefitted indigenous people and the planet! I can’t wait to see what this year brings us!

Thursday morning is set to start off right with a community breakfast sponsored by Planet Oat, Wildfare and Chobani. While you may ask, why stop for breakfast when the event is nothing but stuffing your face… BUT this even actually feeds attendees and packs boxes for those in need for Children’s Hunger Fund. That day is chalked full of meetings and so I won’t get to sneak away to any of the daytime events, but I plan to spend that evening checking out the New Hope awards.

Friday, another fun-filled meeting day – but this one ends in a concert! True, there is a concert every night of the show, but Friday’s features Thievery Corporation and it looks like it is going to be a fun, high energy, event. Saturday is the day I will get to catch my breath and do some actual palette pleasing. (it is harder than you would think to hold good meetings when your mouth is consistently full)

So with that, I wish everyone an awesome show – Catch you next week if I don’t explode from all the goodies!
