The Sr. Staff Accountant is a critical part of a team that operates in a fast-paced environment by
providing support to the organization’s accounting department in all aspects of general
accounting duties.
Responsibilities
- Support month-end and year-end close process by:
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results.
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
- Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
- Maintaining the accuracy of all accounting ledgers
- Participate in financial standards setting and in the forecast process.
- Participate in the preparation of financial statements and budgets according to schedule.
- Assist with external and tax audit efforts.
- Preparing monthly consolidations with multiple currency and intercompany accounting.
- Proactively identifying process improvement opportunities, and advising on follow-up
actions. - Ensuring US GAAP compliance in the company’s financial reporting, including technical
analyses of new and existing accounting pronouncements. - Timely preparation of financial reporting deliverables to the management team, including
monthly reporting packages, board packages, and other adhoc analysis as needed. - Participate in merging all financial systems (Sage, SAP, Xtuple, Quickbooks) under the
same platform to improve reporting accuracy, streamline processes, and automate
reporting.
Experience/Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as an accountant, preferably with a Public Company.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with CPA preferred.
- Knowledge of GAAP accounting.
- Knowledge of internal controls.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial analysis .
- SEC and SOX Compliance experience .
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
- Hands on experience with accounting software: Sage, SAP, Xtuple, and Quickbooks preferred.
